Yossele Rosenbatt-s in 1933 In Israel - Very Rare footage |
| Marking 80 years since the death of Yosele great cantors Rosenblatt (1882-1933) I make a dream scenes from the movie with me. Yosele came to Israel in 1933 concert tour and film production. Unfortunately, during the filming felt ill, suffered a heart attack and died at Hadassah Mount - viewers. The film was considered lost for many years is in the 70th in two places. Jerusalem under the bed of deer Rekhtman, a devout Jew who lived in the gates, and 20-30 in the 20th century ran a cinema near the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem. (The two copies in English and Hebrew purchased for Spielberg Archive), and U.S. English is excellent copy in AFI and then rolled to NCJF so another copy Yiddish. The full story behind the production of the film has not yet been deciphered. In an interview I conducted 25 years ago with Henry Rosenblatt, son of Yosele accompanied him to Israel Israeli campaign, for details unknown.
