V'Zot Habracha (Deuteronomy 33:1 - 34:12): It's the final Torah reading of the year. Blessing of the Sun
The Talmud, the oral tradition of the Jewish people, teaches Astronomy. It describes the anniversary of creation of the sun. On this day the sun appears in the sky at the exact place it was when first created! Wow what a concept! That anniversary occurs once in every 28 years, and this year it is April 8, 2009 . Jews around the world will gather to say a special blessing to mark this auspicious day! I had the privilege to work with verteran actor Steven Hill of Mission Impossible, and Law and Order fame. How do Kosher Jews treat the name of God?

The name of God in any language is in and of itself holy, and Jewish law forbids its destruction. Consequently, many Jews will spell it in unusual ways such as G-d. Our Rabbinical advisors permit us to type out the name because on a computer monitor the image of words does not have the solidity and permanence of a document. However, we have been cautioned to ask you not to print out materials that have such a name on them, unless you are prepared to dispose of such a page in the proper manner. (Burial of such pages is best.)
